The Rottweiler is an extremely smart and Loyal dog, highly trainable working dog. Excels in obedience, shutslund, K9 and personal protection. I great family pet, generally gets along with all animals when socialized properly. Males are a bit more aloof and will jump to protect their family while females seem a bit more lovey dovey.
Northern Guardian Rottweiler is the Kennel/Breeders that are mostly interested in bringing back the legacy of the old world German Rottweiler. We are talking about the Dog that came from the extinct Canis Pugnax. These were the coliseum fighting dogs and Roman Dogs of War.

The Rottweiler breed originated in Italy and used as one of their dogs of war. Descended from the Mollosous, cousin to the Cane Corso. Both the decendents of the now extinct CANIS-PUGNAX. The Gladiator arena Fighting dogs and the Roman Dogs of war. At the time they were a 200 lb+ dog and quite ferocious. They were so dangerous that they were all but made extinct. Thankfully a few breeder pairs were smuggled into Rottweil Germany. From there they were down bread into the Dog we know today.
It is our goal to continue the legacy of this wonderful breed of dog in its original form .. not as the ACK has done but as it true rich history dictates.
